please help me get to Guide Dog graduation!

You can donate here: http://www.gofundme.com/or1nyw
Ophelia was my third dog, and she is also the first dog to make it all the way through her training (the first 1 and a half years of her life!). She is currently waiting to be matched with the perfect person at the Guide Dogs for the Blind campus in Boring, OR.

I am so proud of my little Ophelia, and I want more than anything to go see her graduate and meet the person who needs her and who's life will be changed forever because of her. It is heartbreaking to raise them and never see them again, and it would mean a lot to me to experience this and see firsthand what an impact these puppies have on a blind person's life.

Unfortunately, they don't always give much notice to make your travel plans, because they never know how long it will take to find a perfect match. That is why I am asking for help. Last minute travel is not something I can readily afford.

If, for any reason, Ophelia gets dropped last minute or I don't end up raising enough money to go, 100% of the donation will go to purchase a new harness for a guide dog who does make it. (these are expensive, they are like 300 bucks a piece!)

Thank you so much for your generosity, it means the world to me!

Bliss goes to the office

Yesterday was Bliss' first day at the office. I brought her with me after my lunch hour, and she immediately laid down under my desk and stayed calm for the rest of the day.
It was really neat that nobody knew she was even there, because she was so quiet and good! People gradually discovered the puppy snoozing under the desk as they walked by my cubicle. She was a sweet little angel both days, didn't get too crazy when people would come by.
My favorite thing is getting the opportunity to work on commands while I'm working, especially stay and go to bed. She has a tie down, but it's important that I can walk across the room or run to the bathroom and she not try to follow me or whine.
There was one nerve wracking moment today. She was snoring away on her blanket and I was on a phone call. Suddenly I heard her start to bark in her sleep, the only time she barks. It's not even a real bark, just a weird half bark. I was snapping my fingers, trying to wake her without interrupting my call, but luckily she stopped! Silly girl, I hope she was having a good dream!
She is already winning the hearts of everyone in the office!

Here's a pic of Bliss resting under my desk, and one of her at home after, wanting to play.

A short story

”Mom, I'm tired!”
”No pictures!”
”Ok, you go to puppy class. I'll just stay here and sleep.”

Food refusal

Bliss is very good at food refusal. Here she is refusing floor kibble and then floor sesame sticks.

Go to bed!

I love watching these dogs figure things out. They are so damn smart. you can actually tell that they are thinking about what to do, too, and I love it.

She wasn't sure about that mat at first, but she caught on and eventually brought a bone over to the mat with her. This its the first day I've worked on this particular training.
